2 turntables, a mixer and a microphone, the working foundation of every DJ. My name is Steven Scott aka Steven House, musician, turntablist, remixer and electronic music enthusiast. I think every DJ has had that aha moment, mind came to me by way of a block party. I remember pushing my way through the dancing crowed and being mesmerized by this dj who was controlling the crowed with infectious smooth groves and break beats! That’s all it took and I was hooked. Flash forward many years and I have worked my way up from house parties to mobile gigs and club work. My influences like my taste in music are vast and eclectic! Back in the day, a good friend turned me on to DJ producers like shep pettibone, the Latin rascals and Junior Vasquez. Also Philadelphia DJ’s like Cosmic Kev, DJ Jazzy Jeff and DJ cash Money where on heave rotation in my tape deck! Later on I developed a love for house music and got turned on to DJ’s like Car Cox, Steve Silk Hurley and the late great Frankie Knuckles just to name a few! Today with the advent of technology, the DJ is no longer just a guy playing music; He or she is a Musician, producer, performer and artist. As for me, it’s time to take my gift of making body’s move and heads nod to the next level by broadcasting my remixes and smooth blends to the world wide web and beyond! See you on the other side!
