So this music is where it really all began. I loved synthesized music and the 80s were a great decade for the convergence of technology and art. It all started with a 12-inch "Extended Play" record of Depeche Mode's Route 66/Behind the Wheel. From this record, I went one to purchasing second hand gear to create a makeshift remixing studio in my teenage bedroom. I would utilize vinyl records, reel-to-reel, cassette, and even an VHS player to dub samples into a various mixtapes. While I didn't include that particular record on this mix, I paid tribute to my all-time favorite band and number one music influence by starting and finishing the mix with their music. I hope that this flashback is fun for you and that you enjoy a time when music was made to have fun with whatever methods the artists had available to them.
