Dj MaNiAc (Carl Villarubia) Bio
Started at the age of 16 not knowing how to DJ he was offered to play one night at a local bar called The Tunnel to back up a dj that had gone sick on the night, Carl was known to have good taste in music always with up to date tracks. He plays for the 1st time ever for over 300 people live not knowing how to mix or even use the DJ setup properly, He manages to rock the crowd with his style of tunes, He was offered Residency for friday nights by popular demand on the same month.
His DJ career had just started & he didn't even know it...
As months went by other local bars booked him to DJ, it did not take long before Carl got known in the DJ scene in Gibraltar. Just under a year of Djing he took on 3 residencies, He Used To Play Fridays at Corks - Rush down to LiL Rock - Finish off at The Tunnel & On saturdays he used to play at Corks - The Tunnel. This went on for 4 years gaining experience & learning to DJ by himself live at gigs.
After some time Dj'ed around Gibraltar, In 2009 he was offered a try out for residency at Moorea Sotogrande (Spain) He was Resident Dj at Moorea Sotogrande (Spain) 2009/2010. Same year he was invited to 2 radio shows Global FM with Johnnie B Gomez & Salvaje FM with Golfo Wey.
2010 he returns to Gibraltar with a Residency at Savannah, where he still remains resident to this date..... To Be Continued :-)
