Hi, im Ben, and what can i say... i love the dance music genre!
All started with a cd my little brother was bought for a Christmas many moons ago... he didnt like it and so he gave it to me... i liked certain tracks from it, and started my own investigations into this 'new' music i'd discovered. Previously, i had grown up on the 60's, 70's, 80's and early 90's sounds of my parents...
From there, and listening to Radio One, i got into the Trance side of things when it was truly great, 1999... on one particular Essential Mix, i heard the still amazing 'Xpander' by Sasha... i was blown away by it and immeadiately hunted it out.
Next, i picked up Sasha's "San Fransisco" Global Underground mix, and as the back blurb suggested, it was pure witchcraft... that cd completely changed my whole life! I quickly got the whole series and it became the blueprint of my continued interest.
Naturally, then i wanted to try mixing! So i took to it... took me AGES to even grasp a beat match, and for any decent amount of time. But i kept at it, and i eventually broke it :)
These days, im still expanding my knowledge in terms of what i do, and how i do it. Having gone through vinyl and cds, im now working to incorporate the digital side of things too. I used to think it was cheating, but im now realising what an awesome tool it can be, and i think it shows in how my sets have evolved.
Im beginning to really put together the sets i want to, and this in turn inspires me to keep at it... i eventually hope to get a decent shot at doing something with this life passion of mine :)
I love experimenting...if it sounds good to me,i'll play it! I dont limit myself to one style... i like too much to be blinkered by what a 'genre' might be... and i hope my Rendered series showcases this thinking :)
