I wanted to celebrate Bobby Womack's life with a real upbeat mix, but I wanted to present something a little different so my inspiration couple Bobby with Aretha Franklin. This is not a greatest hits from Bobby but a selction of choice cuts. One of my prize L.P.s is Safety Zone I ordered and bought it on its release after hearing tracks on the, then Radio London and was blown away. I still feel that it is my favourite album of his, even now when I listen to that, and it sounds better on the vinyl format, the vibe is totally out of this World. For me, on this L.P,. Bobby was at the top of his game. Bobby Womack R.I.P. thanks for the music over the last 50 years since I first heard you on Voice Of America fading in and out. (For those who are out of the loop he died a few days)
