Ive been Dj'ing since 14 years of age, being 37 years young now I feel blessed to have witnessed the House, Rave and clubbing movement from the late 80's through the 90's, which will be something that will be never be repeated again, and never be compared to today.
At the age of 16 along with three friends, we won a grant from the Prince's Trust to start up a mobile DJ'ing business, which gave us the opportunity to cater for the younger generation as well as doing a few more traditional gigs. I moved into nightclub management early on with the Kingfisher Leisure Group and DJ'd at many venues in and around London and on the South coast.
My early styles were more of the swinging laid back rooms familiar of a lot of early UK Garage, Vocal house and US Garage, which eventually some of these styles developed into the more familiar UK Garage and 2step, which DJ'ing at was immense fun due to the crowd interaction...reeeeeeewind :-) From there I followed a bit more of a trance and progressive style, generally public trend and interest was where I went.
I hung up my headphones in my mid twenties, focusing on my real job. My preffered styles today are soulful and deep house, and I occasionally play out at various bars and clubs in London and the South Coast.
