Bio
December 2006… the nod was cracked to debut at one of the biggest institutions of dance music in South Africa, ESP. Thereafter under ESP’s sister brand, DJ Lounge... He continued to build a brand for himself by throwing smaller, more intimate parties before taking on residency at Submission Night Club in Johannesburg early 2008 earning him the honour of playing alongside SA’s top brass DJ’s and hosting a mammoth Back2Back set with Irish Sensation Nigel H marking the beginning of a new era for Lil’ Mike.
Promoting and organising of events came next in 2009 when “Submission Night”, Mike’s signature event to date was hosted opening new doors, exploring further behind the scenes and opening up ideas for future events in South Africa while show casing his skills around JHB at various venues, events and private parties before taking on a weekly guest slot at Risque in 2010. Expanding his versatility, using various genres of House Music from Groovy/Funky House, Electro to Tech and Progressive house to create a memorable experience for his listeners week in and week out.
Early 2011 Lil’Mike rediscovered his roots and decided to expand his boundaries once again and began working with Trance. Quickly adjusting his skills and techniques, enhancing his versatility and ability with Trance... he was granted the
honour of hosting the Pre-boarding Party at Tranceport 2011 and been featured on MixFM’s (93.8FM) Saturday radio show “Sunset Dance” hosted by Alastair Gray.
Ingenuity like this is definitely keeping this young stalwart on the forefront of the South African dance scene, raising the question “What’s next?”
