Last friday, the 13th (!!) of april 2012 I spend half the night talking with my mate and the other half he was producing his music and whilst he was fiddeling around to get every sound as he wants it to be, I sit back and listen to the whole and every so now and then I tell him what I do or do not like, or what I think is missing, for example : he created a silence of 4 beats in his track and, because producing is listening over and over again to the same bit, I felt that he should leave the beat out those 4 beats but that he should let the hi hats roll on and that is how he works and how I "assist" him with that (this was just an example, it is not easy to explain music to another person before it actually is created..). I came home that saturdaymorning, seven o clock and I could not sleep. I did a bunch of nothing, that day. That night I had a dinner with friends because another mate of mine, LeSin, had his birthday last week. And about 2.5hrs before I had to be there, I remembered the Whappie B-Day song from BuzzFuzz. Because I had no present I thought, I'll mix him a set with that Wappie song...When I finished (because I did not have much time left) I put it online, did not listen to it, and now it is sunday,15th of april 2012, I still havent slept yet, but I have heared this mix.. Maybe you will feel I used too many different styles and things like that. Maybe I did. But it was a rush, last minute thing. I find the largest problem that the volumes of the channels seem to be very off.. One to loud compared to the others.. Strange.. Anyhoe, the records I present you are all great ( AS ALWAYS )!! So I hope that you, at least, have that to hold on to, hahahaha... Owkee, I really, really, no, really need to get me some sleep now!!
Ps: with the wappie b-day bits ,at the biginning and at the end, I used my onboard sampler for the first time in a mix... ( the sampler onboard the Behringer DDM4000 mixer that is.)
