Welcome to the world of DJ Q-Stick. Born and raised on Long Island, NY, music has always been in my life as my parents and older siblings always had music playing in the house or car. As a kid, I remember staying up late to record hip-hop and house mixes off the radio onto my TDK or Maxell 90-min tapes. After graduating college in 1992, my first job took me to Dallas, TX. Coming from NY, it was tough adjusting to the music that was played there so one day I went out and bought 2 turntables, a mixer, and 6 hip-hop records to teach myself how to DJ and mix. After a few months of practice, I finally got to a place where I was happy sharing mixed tapes with friends and family. Almost 20 years later, I still have a love and passion for music and DJing. House Music has a special place in my heart because its one genre of music that moves me physically and spiritually. I lose myself in house and when I DJ, my goal is to transport listeners to a place where nothing else matters except the music. I want folks to experience all 5 senses with House. I want them to SEE house. I want them to SMELL house. I want them to TOUCH house. I want them to HEAR house. I want them to TASTE house. My motto when I DJ is "Good Music. Good People. Good Times."
