Last week, we lost a ray of light. I have known Lash LaRue for 39 years. He wasn't just a great DJ...he was a great man.  Lash played a lot of roles in his 72 years...husband, father, grandfather, brother, son...and so many more. He was an engineer...a soldier and veteran (Viet Nam)...a poker player...a tomato grower...a good neighbor...and he was passionate about music...all music. I'm not sure just how many different gigs he DJ'd...I'm certain it's in the hundreds. I know...I had the honor of being there for most of them. Whether he was playing for a large crowd in a club or at a private event...or playing for friends and family at his home, he was always in the moment...and loving it. When the music played, so did Lash...always smiling, always looking for the right tune to make you smile too. I will miss my friend...my brother...my mentor...my surrogate father. Rest well Lash...the music plays on...only now a little quieter.
