Bio
Since the day he was born, Southpaw has been around music on a regular basis. Influenced by all the true and great funk artists of the 70’s, from SOS band, Gap band, Parliament, and Laid Back, to the great R&B greats like Keith Sweat, Freddie Jackson, Luther Vandross, and Patti LaBelle. There's really too many to list on this page! Southpaw was introduced to Hip Hop at the young age of 6, when the legendary artists of his time brought this new form of music to the foreground, and grabbed the media‘s attention. Everyone, from Run DMC to D Nice, Salt n' Pepa to JJ Fad, had him rockin under the Hip Hop scene of the 80‘s. It was this time where things began to take off. Southpaw gained interest into EDM back in 1997, when his eldest brother passed on a CD titled "Global House Culture vol. 1: mixed by DJ Pierre and Nightripper". "I still feel this is one of the best house CD's I've ever heard!" Southpaw quotes. He began to take an interest into Drum and Bass, simply because of it’s somewhat, Hip Hop roots, and picked up DJ Dara's "Full Circle". It was not until a little later that he came across Bad Boy Bill's "Bangin' the Box 4. This is when he knew where he wanted to take his music to...... BANGIN FUNKY HOUSE! Once given the opportunity to touch the decks, he quickly became a fast learner of the art of DJ’ing and turntable trickery, and playing his first event after a short 6 months.
Now known as one of Colorado's premier and most wanted house DJ's, he is playing all over the state. Rockin the decks and gettin asses shakin until the sun comes up! He has evolved his EDM House music roots into what we now know as Electro, Fidget and Wonk. However, you can still hear the soulful and funky roots in his tracks that made him so ever popular! This guy will guarantee to bring a show stopping performance, no matter where he performs! And will leave party go’ers in astonishment for months to come!
