Pronounced with a simple creative twist on the sound of his initials, “M” and “S”, EMENES is a skilled veteran DJ and Producer from the Canadian West Coast. Having crafted his skill set to uniquely highlight his South Asian roots, Emenes is not prisoner to any one genre. Nurturing a wide range of dj styles, he is the rare fusion between the sounds of Urban Bhangra & Bollywood along with the urban mainstream anthems of House, Electro, Dance, R&B and Top 40. Bringing a proven blend of talent, passion and experience with his unique & explosive style of mixing, blending & looping between various musical selections, his keen eye to read the crowd continues to fuel his added edge of demonstrating his ability in keeping the energy alive. He not only has the artistry when it come to performing, he also has the drive and dedication in investing his time crafting his production proficiency. Having been recognized by the Museum of Vancouver for being responsible of opening of the flood gate to mix urban hip hop beats with South Asian music, Emenes continues to challenge his unique position of having one foot rooted in the music of India, and the other rooted in the mainstream diaspora. Centered on the cusp of creatively fusing South Asian elements with today's popular electronic dance music, “Good Times”, a 6 track EP, is a product of his evolving sound. Modern trending baselines and dance kicks can be heard accented with sitars, tumbis, dhols, dholaks, various Indian chants / vocals, and various other Indian instruments. One thousand plus, and still going strong... this is the approximate number of events performed to date since the release of his first mix tape in the mid-90’s, Mundey In Black (MiB Productions). After his UK Media Tour in 2003, Emenes went on and founded the MiB RoadShow and and has spent the past decade in his hometown servicing various events while branding and growing one of Western Canada’s longest running “DJ Roadshow.” Boasting a 12 album discography, at the turn of the millennium he held both the #1 and #2 spots on the Zee Music Channel UK Top 10 Charts. His works have also gone on to gain recognition by the Museum of Vancouver, who credited him for kicking off the remix wave in Western Canada and acknowledged his impact on the bhangra music scene locally and globally. Most recently, Emenes has been on the global Bollywood scene, where he DJ’d for the inaugural TOIFA (Times of India Film Awards) exclusive afterparty.
