Sydney Crate Digger, Label Owner, Journalist & Radio host PARIS GROOVESCOOTER laying it down live at SOUL OF SYDNEY 'Funk Fundraiser'
Special 2013, closing party for 2SER Radiothon.
Recorded: 3-4pm Sunday Oct 27
DJ: Paris Groovescooter (Jumping The Gap - 2ser, Groove Scooter)
Music: Day Time Disco Vibes & Old School Electro Funk.
Here is another sweet treat from last Sunday's 2ser fundrasier jam, this one is the 3-4pm afternoon disco and electro funk set throwdown by 2SER's own Paris Groovescooter.
About Groove Scooter Records:
Groovescooter is an Australian record label incorporating the da dAdA imprint, a music production house and a film sync service that began in 1997, growing out of a radio show. Apart from hosting two weekly radio shows these days - those behind the label also produce events like the recurring music-meets-visual art exhibition, ArtGroupie and DJ regularly including a couple of Sydney residencies.
About Jumping The Gap (2ser)
We dig music with depth and soul, and usually music that grooves, whether Afrobeat, forgotten soundtracks, boogaloo, soul, free-jazz, funk, Latin, dub, reggae, psych, post-rock, downbeat, freaky disco... you get the idea.
JUMPING THE GAP
2SER 107.3FM Sydney
Wednesdays Noon - 2pm (AU EST)
Streams: 2ser.com
A mixed plunge into psych-funk, soul, disco, reggae, soundtracks, free-jazz & beyond, hosted by Paris from Groovescooter Records. Sometimes there's a theme or a guest. Shows can dive headlong into Brazilian, Turkish or Afrobeat specials, play word association, stretch the bungee to slap artists/genres face-to-face, or jump for joy honoring a fave producer or label. Whether it's old, new or yet-to-be released, a classic, demo or an exclusive gap-jumping edit, tunes are sourced from around the globe. We may leap about, teeter close to the edge or nosedive into the blue beyond sometimes, but there's always a guide-rope (admittedly frayed & tenuous) providing some connection with 'groove'.
