About The Mix:
Paul ‘Flex’ Taylor Cause/Effect Disco Drops Mix (2012)

For our December 2012, Sydney club night SWEETCHILLI released this mix from the godfather of all things DISCO, DJ PAUL 'FLEX TAYLOR.

About // Paul came to Sydney in ’77 and got a job in a record store, and got into DJing. By ’79 disco was blowing up and Paul was spinning 40 hrs a week in clubs, and was officially a vinyl and mix junkie.

Paul continued to develop his craft over the years, doing the live remix thing with double copies of records, Looping/phasing/echoing & later, scratching as he got into turntablism & placed 2nd in a Australian DMC mixing finals in 1987. Paul also started editing his own versions of tracks for the clubs. Even starting his own dj remix service available on cassette!

During the 90′s and early 00′s Paul dominated the scene playing at every club and event worth noting, playing a variety of styles from disco to House to tech and prog. (Thats how he got the name ‘Flex’ cause hes so musically diverse) Consolidating his name as one of the most technically proficient Dj’s in the country if not the world.

Paul did a lot of post production & remixing for quite a few dance artists working with fellow DJ Craig Obey under the name “Funk Corporation” they received a nomination for Australian remix of the year in 2001 for Love Tatoos “Party”
.
From radio to clubs, DJing to production & record stores. Paul ‘Flex’ Taylor is the godfather of the Sydney scene and this mix was inspired by his set at Cause/Effect. If you missed paul playing, you should check this. The real deal…
