Mikey G, notorious for his hard-hitting, unique sets, is a DJ from Birmingham, now living in Leicester, UK. Mikey grew up listening to a wide variety of dance music and was heavily influenced by the bass heavy music being played around the midlands. He gained a huge interest in Drum & Bass, Garage and Speed Garage. Having been to hundreds of dance events, he decided to learn to DJ himself and began honing his skills, and was soon booked to play at local club nights. He started playing at various Drum & Bass events around the UK and supported numerous big name DJ’s across the scene. He became interested in ‘Jackin House’ and ‘House & Bass’, new styles of music giving a fresh twist on the Garage tunes he grew up listening to. He began DJ’ing at events regularly across the Midlands and as his popularity grew, so did his busy Dj’ing schedule - which is now frequently jam-packed, playing for many various club nights in the House and D&B scene. In August 2015 Mikey was asked to play at the closing party at Summerfest, a world leading skydive event in Chicago USA. After delivering a 6hr non-stop marathon set, he didn't disappoint! Mikey regularly posts live mixes on his Soundcloud page which have gained a large world-wide audience and are eagerly anticipated by many. He ensures any mix or live set he does has lots of energy and ground-shaking bass to keep the crowd dancing from start to finish. For bookings contact via here or through Facebook/Twitter

I first started djing around about 12 years ago when i was 17. It was by chance i knew a dj in a bar and one week he asked me if i could do his set for him as he couldnt make it and gave me a brief lesson on what to do and from there i was hooked. I started getting sets playing hip hop and garage in Doncaster and sheffield and then discovered speed garage in 2001 and then started playing that. During that time myself and 2 others started a label called Gridlockd Records which became one of the biggest labels in the scene in a very short time as we were the only label making original tracks. Fast forward 12 years and in that time i played the first bassline set on bbc 1xtra, put together a compilation for ministry of sound (Maximum bass 2007) And had tracks signed to mos and all around the world (Universal). I decided in 2008 that i wasnt gonna pidgeonhole myself to one genre and went self employed as a dj and tutor. Around that time i got my own show on local legal radio station sine fm and my weekend vibes show did so well they moved me from 2-3 sat afternoon to 6-8 saturday night the show before dj legend graeme park. Nowadays i do a show called the history of Dance music on sine fm 102.6fm in Doncaster or www.sinefm.com worldwide every tuesday evening 8pm-10pm.

Hello. I'm old, really, really old. I'm 40 in fact. I "came of age" musically in the year 1989 hearing some weird and freaky sounds emanating from the radio at daft o'clock. Odd squelchy, industrial sounds. I was hooked. The electronic music scene exploded and I was caught up in the blast. I suppose my earliest "electronic" influences were from my Dads Pink Floyd and ELO albums. Then Jean Michel Jarre. I love all electronic music really but my "jumping around like a Banana on a piece of string" moments tended to arise when listening to rave music. Mickey Finn, Grooverider, Sy, Ratty and Ellis Dee. I did enjoy the Hardcore side to it but found myself being drawn to the darker, junglier (?!?!) sounds. I bought my first set of decks in 92 and have owned many pairs since. I remember fondly opening my first set of 1210's and realising that these were the benchmark. THE decks. I have owned 3 pairs (1 x set of silver 1200's) of Technics and sadly sold my last pair in 2000 but I could never bear to part with my vinyl. I played at a couple of Illegal raves in Nottingham but the majority of my "work" was house parties. Many, many, many house parties be they at friends houses or friends of friends or just some fella that me and my mates met after a night out in Mansfield or wherever. After marrying my beautiful wife in 2008 I decided that I needed some decks in my life so I plumped for some direct drive decks (not Techinics. I know, disgraceful behaviour) and a mixer and started both playing my old stuff and buying some new stuff. I surprised myself with the amazing retention of "being able to mix" and decided to do a few CD's for my friends and colleagues at work. Some wanted old happy hardcore, others old D and B/jungle, others the new stuff. All went down well and with the advent of the Interweb thingy and after my good friend Mark suggested this site I thought i'd upload some. I am now the proud owner of Technics 1200mk5's and a Korg mixer. I am also now dipping my toe into the digital world. Look out for some new mixes coming soon..... Thanks. Foxual. 2 x Technics SL1200 mk3's, Korg mixer, Harman Kardon Amp, Sony CD recorder, Tascam portable digital recorder.

Whats up as you already saw my name is Chad a.k.a. HouseRoKKa/PsYnapse and I am a DJ based in Durban, South Africa. I have been DJing since 2005, and I'm avid fan of electronic beatz. My love first started with Hard House, and since then my tastes have diversified also into progressive house, tech house, progressive trance, uplifting trance and more recently, progressive psy! I feel that my musical taste and diversity have evolved nicely since I started playing, and I am happy of the place I find myself in my DJ career at the moment. Outdoor trance parties are the way forward, and I'm looking forward to experiencing more of these type of events. These days I will be exclusively playing progressive psy, so look out for mixes under my new alias in this genre - "PsYnapse". I have played at the following major venues/events/music festivals to date:- Transfari 2013, Ashburton- amaFull Throttle 2012/13, Baynesfield- Jalarupa 2008- The Origin, Durban- Traxx Nightclub, Durban;as well as many other smaller venues in around the greater Durban area. I am always looking for new gigs, so if you have any booking enquires, please feel free to email me on: HouseRoKKa@live.co.za To stay up to date with all my new mixes, follow me here on house-mixes.com.
