Carl started off as a glass collector in a local nightclub, he always had a feel and a love for music and when the resident dj never turned up the manager asked him to go and play a few tunes, he did although he had never mixed on 2 record decks he was mixing his first tracks within thirty minutes. He says ' I couldn't believe how easy I picked it up, I used to watch the resident dj and had an idea of what to do and when asked to cover for him I put it to practice and found it really easy, I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones'. Carl has never stopped perfecting his mixes the 10 years he has been playing and continues to strive in his performances, now using his laptop and Traktor he plays some very creative sets, although he does make sure he takes some records with him for good measure. 'I will never leave records it's how I started and learned and there is nothing like taking a vinyl out and hearing it been played sounds so much warmer than a cd, but I had to join the digital era and it is a lot easier on my back'. He then went on to run his own night BACK2HOUSE which was very successful, after this he was offered to do guest sets in local bars and clubs and gaining a loyal following of members he then progressed to run DELICIOUS another night with a soundtrack consisting of retro and funky vocal house tracks. After a few years of running his nights he received a phone call to become the resident dj at the nightclub he first started out, he gladly accepted and was rocking the dance floor week in week out for 3 years. He then took a break in which he started to have a go at producing.....

Follow on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/donnychristian6 DJ PROFILE: Donny only started beatmatching at the age of 21; he always enjoyed raving to old skool garage and house music but never thought he could actually mix. It was only 'till he got messing with some MP3 mixing software (Atomix)...........then caught the bug. Instead of going down the electronic route he managed to grab some dirt-cheap Technics SL-1210 Mk3 decks & SH-DJ1200 mixer (for a bargain £500) and was soon trawling the record shops of London and eBay tracking down those rare-as-rockinghorse-sh*t tunes! Over time (and £££s spent!) he has built up a vast & extensive collection of the very best Old Skool Garage nostalgic tunes from 1997-2002; he likes to call this the 'Golden Era'. Many, many hours of practise behind the decks gave him the skills and confidence to take the plunge and jet out to Laganas, Zante in 2005 for the entire summer to share his talent. There, he immediately gained residency in Wackabout/Sabotage Club and also DJ'd guest nights at Amnesia Nightclub, Club Black & White and Footprint Beach Bar. Since his return he has played out at various bars/clubs and private functions around London & Surrey such as Wimbledon, Croydon and Clapham. Apart from Old Skool Garage, he specialises in and Funky/Disco/Electro House which has mainly been driven by his passion for anything Hed Kandi – he owns a massive collection of their CD compilations dating back since 2004. His funky house collection on vinyl ranges from 1999-Present though! Donny always has the crowd in mind and endeavours to give them what they want to hear. He loves to know his music inside-out so can drop tunes at the perfect spot to keep them jumping all night. Music-wise he is pretty versatile; he can also mix Trance and Drum & Bass. His partner in crime Mike Chadwick is also somewhat of a master around the decks who specialises in HipHip and R&B of all years so, together will always have something in their boxes for the masses! On Donny’s page you will find his proudest mixes (with no song repeats!) so try download them all. Any feedback is always appreciated so you are welcome to leave a comment on any of them. Follow Donny to be kept informed of his latest mixes. Integrity Records/Plushouse Recordings/Drizzle Music/Jack Locker Recordings/CHFM / Greenhouse Recordings/ Tastie Music/ BIO I fell in love with house music at the early age of 17. The year was 1994 and the Midwest rave scene was just starting to blossom. I took a liking to the sound coming out of Chicago. Some of my early influences were; Dj Sneak, Derrick Carter, Miles Meada, Traxx, Justin Long, Cajmere and Lego. I would end up starting my DJ career on Chicago’s north side. There I worked for Sun Ra Productions and played such parties as Cosmic Cup of Cappuccino alongside Boo Williams, Derrick Carter and Robert Armani. I later made connections with Terry Martin and was booked to open up for Derrick Carter at Chicago’s very own Smart Bar. I eventually took my knowledge back to Wisconsin and joined forces with 3D Concept Entertainment. We pooled our ideas together and brought a dance mecca to the Fox Valley. Like all good things in small cities it eventually came to an end. I then took time to travel and play throughout the United States mostly in L.A., San Diego, Mexico, Phoenix and down South. I was able to bring the Chicago house sound to area's heavily influenced by breaks and drum n bass and it was received well by all. After about 4 years off from the industry i moved back to Wisconsin from my home state of Michigan. There I began to work with Epiphic, which was an up and coming house music collective ran by my good friend Michael John. We once again had a thriving house music scene back in the Appleton and Green Bay areas, which lasted for some time. Michael and I started to produce tracks for his record label Epiphic Recordings. Using the aliases of Sterling Johnson & Tyrone James we released two e.p.s on Epiphic. In 2009 I met up with an old friend and decided to start another collective, which would later turn out to be Future Funk Foundation. We worked very hard together and by 2010 we had 2 releases out on Integrity Records. I am currently working on my own solo projects. The first being The Full Spectrum e.p. which is set to be released on June 15th 2011 on Integrity Records. I would like to give a special shout out to my good friend Kay Jay of Soul Deep Collective for believing in me and inspiring me to fulfill my dreams. Sean ~ I have been listening to them all. I'm not sure if my comment got posted but this is what I wrote. "A Revolutionary Deep Soulfull Transformation of Inner Isolation and Pain, which very few Survive, into a Marching Rhythmic Beat leading others to a Safe Spot on the Planet Earth" ~P~
