It was only 'till he got messing with some MP3 mixing software (Atomix)...........then caught the bug. Instead of going down the electronic route he managed to grab some dirt-cheap Technics SL-1210 Mk3 decks & SH-DJ1200 mixer (for a bargain £500) and was soon trawling the record shops of London and eBay tracking down those rare-as-rockinghorse-sh*t tunes! Over time (and £££s spent!) he has built up a vast & extensive collection of the very best Old Skool Garage nostalgic tunes from 1997-2002; he likes to call this the 'Golden Era'. Many, many hours of practise behind the decks gave him the skills and confidence to take the plunge and jet out to Laganas, Zante in 2005 for the entire summer to share his talent. There, he immediately gained residency in Wackabout/Sabotage Club and also DJ'd guest nights at Amnesia Nightclub, Club Black & White and Footprint Beach Bar. Since his return he has played out at various bars/clubs and private functions around London & Surrey such as Wimbledon, Croydon and Clapham. Apart from Old Skool Garage, he specialises in and Funky/Disco/Electro House which has mainly been driven by his passion for anything Hed Kandi – he owns a massive collection of their CD compilations dating back since 2004. His funky house collection on vinyl ranges from 1999-Present though! Donny always has the crowd in mind and endeavours to give them what they want to hear. He loves to know his music inside-out so can drop tunes at the perfect spot to keep them jumping all night. Music-wise he is pretty versatile; he can also mix Trance and Drum & Bass. His partner in crime Mike Chadwick is also somewhat of a master around the decks who specialises in HipHip and R&B of all years so, together will always have something in their boxes for the masses! I'm Jase Crawley, 45, and I live and work in Manchester in the U of K. I've been buying records since I was 7 / 8 years old and I still haven't grown out of the habit yet. I've been making my own music, remixes, re - edits, and bootlegs for about the last 17 years, and have DJ'd since I was 17. This account represents 5 years worth of my musical output in the form of mostly DJ sets - think it must have close to 500+ mixes now, there's probably close to a hundred original tunes and re - edits etc, and loads of other stuff I've completely forgotten about. Akar is a DJ and producer from Malmö, Sweden. Since very young age he has had big interest for electronic music. Nowadays he is playing and producing Deep House, Tech House, Nu-Disco and chillout. It was in Ibiza 2015 where Akar became a wildcard finalist in world's biggest DJ competition and Sweden's representative at ''Burn Residency 2015'' where he was chosen as one of 20 DJs who got to be part of it where 8000 + DJs from 130 countries applied for. With mentors like Carl Cox, Philip Straub and Yousef during the bootcamp, Akar also had masterclasses by big names from the industry such as Marco Bailey, Umek, Uner, Nakadia, Jay Lumen, Tony Andrews and many more. Growing up in the 90's has very much left its mark on me, it was a magical time and most of by clubbing days were down in the Bournemouth area and later on in London and Kent. My early influences were DJs such as Danny Rampling, Lisa Lashes, Jon 00 flemming, Roger Sanchez, Tony De Vit, Carl Cox, Billy Nasty, Farley Jackmaster Funk, John pleased Wimmin, Sacha and Digweed, Mickey F, the list goes on. Today i mix a lot of Hard House, Hard Dance and Trance. Started Djing in 1992/93 on a second hand set of ElektraVision belt driven decks!!. After much stumbling and determination i mastered the art and have developed my own unique style playing , old skool ,old skool house , trance , hardcore and italian ! Influences include Dj Welly Have played at Venues such as Better Dayz, Bowlers , bowlers reunion , 53 degrees , maximes , cricketers and compulsion at the mighty bowlers exhibition centre in manchester also booked to play there again on new years eve 2011 ! Also i was the first dj to grace the decks at the legendary bowlers leisure centre in over ten years when it re-opened its doors in may 2011 where i warmed up for the mighty return of the compulsion events ! I Enjoy all types of music. Enjoyed the rave and club scene from 1991 - 1998 Oscars at Clacton-On-Sea Essex was my Haunt back then with some top DJs who I still listen to now and again, DJ Kenny Ken, DJ Rap, Ratty, Jumping Jack Frost, Andy C,Grooverider, DJ SS, Brockie the list goes on. Djs I listen to on hear, Soulful House - DJ Roger Miller and DJ Adrian-Van-Aalst . Mash-ups - Captun B. Jackin House - Dj Simoy & Cheeky D I got into Festivals 1999 - 2008 as I got a bit older :). I was lucky enough to see a lot of great bands Oasis ,Coldplay,The Verve, Phonics etc. My love is still Ska which I still listen to regular, If I hear a track now and like it I will buy it. I have about 100-150 Hours worth of Ska tracks so thats why I have started doing a few mixes for others like me who enjoy a bit of ska. I dont really have a favourite Era I enjoy it all, I suppose the late 70s-80s with UK bands such as Madness, Specials, Selector, The Hotknives getting me into it but there is some good ska coming from all over world.
