Raving since 1999.
*Punk-Rudeboy-Raver**
At the age of 8 I was exposed to electronic music.
Kraftwerk - Electric Cafe was my first electronic album.
By 12 I was listening to Underground SF House acquired through my older sisters who were Ravers at the time. Around 1992. 1 year later, on a visit to Los Angeles to see my sister, I bought a Hardcore mixtape from a flea market and began broadening my electronic music horizon..
Growing up in Santa Cruz California, There were fun Punk and Reggae scenes I was involved in through high school. I grew up listening to a variety of different genres roots / dancehall Reggae, Rocksteady, Ska, Punk Rock Metal and a little Hip-Hop. I've continued listening to those genres since but my favorite has always been the sweet synthetic industrial sounds of EDM.
Even though I hate using "EDM" The catch-all phrase for our music. It does do the job Quickly. Here's the long version...
Jungle, Drum n Bass, Breaks, House, Deep House, Hardcore, TEK, Frenchcore, Trance, Psytrance , Hardstyle, Drumstep, Dubstep, Industrial, Cyber Goth, etc.. the list is too long.. but you get the point.
I'm all over the place musically. I know more about music and different genres than anyone I've ever met. Musicians included!
I'm trying to find time to mix more lately. We'll see if I can get an upload here in the near future. Any tips or advice are welcome. I'm happy to be a part of this awesome platform. Thank you if anyone actually read all of that. 🙂
