Celebrating the 10th anniversary since that holiday to Durham I decided to create a mix with big club tracks that were around at that time along with the story about it underneath in the text..
One sunny Friday in August 2007 I packed my bags and took of on an express bus to Durham. Little did I know I was about to be in for a ride to madness. Whilst it went into a place known as Ferryhill all these mad ravers got on the bus which I nicknamed The Mad Lads Of Durham. They were chanting and getting ready for their rave in the town. When I got there me and my grandma (80 years old then) immediately got a taxi to the hotel to get away from them. However she was hungry so there was no choice but to walk straight into the mayhem. By this time The Mad Lads Of Durham were drunk and bottles were smashed in the streets and there was loud clubland music and shouting everywhere you went and even young ladies smiling at me as I walked by. I was thinking very good this holiday but grandma wasn't happy. She thought she'd found somewhere but it was a nightclub pumping out that Pink Floyd remix track you hear at the beginning. We did eventually find somewhere suitable and ate. The words from grandma were I don't think I like Durham. Walked back after then and went to sleep. The next day I got a bus and visited Darlington but was frightened The Mad Lads Of Durham would return when the bus got back to Ferryhill. I wanted to get back at them though this time and make some noise myself that sounded like them. On the way back after going past and to Newton Aycliffe the bus was at Ferryhill but The Mad Lads Of Durham were nowhere to be in sight. I soon figured out that they must not go out on a Saturday night. I got the bus back home Sunday morning.
So that's what happened on holiday that year and if you were one of The Mad Lads Of Durham it would be good to see a comment from you and remember that village they get on the bus to party again is Ferryhill.
