Prelude records was the home for many Disco/Funk/Boogie classics from France Joli to Sharon Red to D-Train. Although not every release was a success, there were many that made no impact beyond the disco, they were all fine examples of club music.

Constellation Orchestra were once such Prelude act to have made no lasting impression. Mainly due to being a characterless studio conceit who released very little. Both Jesse Boyce and Moses Dillard were responsible for the creation of Constellation Orchestra both producing and writing the songs. They also worked as Frisky, Juice and Saturday Night Band, all releasing fine records. These guys had talent to burn

Perfect Love Affair isn't made to innovate nor be original, its sole purpose is to make you shake you butt. But that's not to say it doesn't have any artistic merit. It does. The way the songs work in tandem with the percussion and bass is great, it gallops along giddily not putting a step wrong. The tracks are polished like a mirror ball, the strings add a sparkle. The four tracks never out stay their welcome, especially the title track.

So, Constellation Orchestra aren't an orchestra and their vocalists have no star power but as an exercise in a genre its near perfect.
