Hello everybody!
I recorded this mix in October preparing a mix for D'aran Italo 80s dance party.
Most of Italo Disco I knew before, sounded a bit ridiculous in my mind...too commercial. The overproduction of the last years was the guilty one.
But recently I discovered the masterpieces in early 80s, when some Italian (or Italian blooded) producers as Giorgio Moroder, Bobby Orlando or Gino Soccio, under the influence of Kraftwerk and US Disco, introduced a new concept in Electronic music.
Sci-fi synths, minimal sounds, robot voices, Divas, hi' energy bass, even some experimentation...
Euro or Italo Disco was a big influence in Chicago House Music, present in WBMX mixes from Hot mix 5 Djs as Mickey Oliver or Farley Jackmaster Funk.
Every new mix is like a trip...I made my own trip back to the 80s during this mix.
