Born in Ponte da Barca, Viana do Castelo, Portugal, on January 28, 1982, MaKiNa discovered a passion for music at a young age, finding it to be a powerful form of self-expression. During his youth, he delved into music as a guitar player in a trash metal band, embracing self-teaching as his primary method of learning. His musical journey led him to explore various instruments and pursue classical music training at the age of 17, fostering a deep understanding of music theory.
With an eclectic taste in music genres, MaKiNa opened doors to boundless creativity. In 2000, he discovered Techno music and found pure joy and artistic expression under the alias MaKiNa. Diligently honing his mixing skills with vinyl records filled with the sounds of Frankfurt and Detroit, MaKiNa developed a distinctive style characterized by dark, progressive, and exhilarating techno beats, featuring robust kicks and infectious bass lines.
A fervent admirer of scratch techniques and rapid mixing, MaKiNa skillfully employs three mixer channels to craft dynamic and evolving sessions, captivating dancefloors and taking revelers on a mesmerizing journey.
Drawing inspiration from influential artists such as Jeff Mills, Oscar Mulero, The Advent, Surgeon, Glenn Wilson, Regis, Takaaki Itoh, Chris Liebing, and Speedy J, MaKiNa displays a profound love for mental, evolving, dark, strong, and industrial techno. He actively follows esteemed producers like Reeko, Exium, and Christian Wunsch from the Pole Group, as well as Planetary Assault Systems, Industrializer, Xhin, Lucy, and Go Hiyama.
Since 2000, MaKiNa has graced the stages of numerous clubs in Northern Portugal and Galicia, Spain, leaving audiences captivated by his unique sound. In 2005, he secured the esteemed position of resident DJ at TechnoFactory, hosted at Penha Club in GuimarĂ£es, Portugal. During his residency, MaKiNa had the privilege of sharing the DJ booth with esteemed Portuguese artists including A.Paul, Jiggy, Morrice, and Wla Garcia, as well as renowned international DJs such as Jesus del Campo, Oliver Ho, Fernanda Martins, Obi, Michael Angelo, Lexis, and Joc.

Currently part of the Clocker's Techno Club Family, from Santiago de Compostela, Spain and also of the Ruralive project, he has been playing in Raves all over Galicia..
