Here’s another remix I’ve produced of a song from my teenage years.
It’s a remix of a song that has a direct link with two of my all-time favourite classic songs, being:
- “Nights In White Satin” performed by The Moody Blues (1967)
- “Uno Dei Tanti” performed by Joe Sentieri (1961)
The second song from 1961 was given English lyrics by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller back in 1963. They changed the song’s title into “I (Who Have Nothing)” - a translation of a line in the Italian lyrics “lo, che non ho niente”. But otherwise the English lyrics were newly written by Leiber & Stoller. I have always loved the English version(s) sung by Dame Shirley Bassey as the song is quite dramatic and well, who can deliver a dramatic song better than Dame Shirley Bassey! 👍🏼😃
The song I’ve produced a remix of is one sung by Dutch female vocalist José Hoebee who used to be the lead singer of a Dutch female trio that was quite popular in the mid 70s and early 80s called Luv’ and the title of the song is “I Love You” and a duet with male vocalist Hans Vermeulen.
The ballad “I Love You” is a combination of the 1967 song “Nights In White Satin” and the 1961/1963 song “I (Who Have Nothing)” and was released back in 1984. Therefor the remix I’ve done is a ‘40th Anniversary Remix’.
As usual I’ve ‘freshened up’ the song but still stayed very true to the original version of the song. Of course I have produced an ‘Extended Remix’ of the song (there never was one!) as well as a ‘Radio Version’. I’m now First sharing the ‘Extended Remix’ of the song “I Love You” and hope you’ll enjoy it!
PS: if you’re not familiar with the original 1984 version of the song by José Hoebee & Hans Vermeulen, have a look on YouTube where you can hear the original 1984 released version of this song.
