I’ve seriously always wanted to do a remix of an ABBA song and I finally had the means to do so. But then came the big question: which song of ABBA to remix as they have SO many wonderful songs 🤔
The answer to that question was found pretty fast: “Lay All Your Love On Me”..! 😃🎶
Why that song you probably think and the answer to that question is pretty simple. The first reason is that there are many remixes of “Lay All Your Love On Me” to be found online here & there, but none of those does justice to the song and ABBA. They all ‘musically rape’ both song and artist 😳🫣
The second reason why I chose “Lay All Your Love On Me” was, that when the song was released back in 1981 there never was an Extended 12” Version on Maxi Single released which I always thought was a real shame. The song instead was released as a “Twelve Inch Only Maxi Single” but it was the album version that was put on that Maxi Single. Go figure!
So I just HAD to do a proper 12” Version of the song when I finally had the means to do so, which had to exactly sound as if it in fact IS the Extended Maxi Single Version that was never released back in 1981 (the song “Lay All Your Love On Me” is from the 1980 ABBA album “Super Trouper”).
And here it is: “Luciën Vrolijk Extended Classic Clubmix” of “Lay All Your Love On Me” performed by ABBA. All that is used is the vinyl Maxi Single of the song, as there are NO multitracks of ABBA songs available to the public.
Doing a remix of an ABBA song does come with a well known issue: it’s like robbing The Vatican or trying to break into Buckingham Palace to steal the Crown Jewels! 😲
And there’s absolutely NO need to feel that way, as I seriously never ever do injustice to either song or performing artist when doing a remix production! Have a listen and decide for yourself if what I said in the sentence before is the truth 😊
